THE KAMA GOLF MATERIALS GUIDE
Polycolon®
Comfort starts next to the skin.
Polycolon is a lightweight polypropylene fibre used in selected KAMA linings and headbands. Its role is to help manage moisture while you move.
Shop this technologyHydrophobic by nature
Polypropylene does not readily absorb water into the fibre. In a suitable textile construction, moisture is transported away from the skin towards the outer layers, where it can evaporate. That makes the lining a useful partner to an insulating wool outer during an active round.
Light, soft and quick to dry
Polycolon contributes a lightweight inner feel and dries quickly. KAMA describes it as dirt-repellent and suitable for repeated washing, subject to the garment care instructions. The complete knit and lining construction determines how warm and breathable the finished piece feels.
Find it in your golf kit
AG11 and AG12 combine a Polycolon lining with merino and waterproof GORE-TEX. AW74 and A188 use Polycolon in their inner construction too. The lining manages moisture; it is not itself the waterproof or windproof layer.
Does Polycolon make a beanie waterproof?
No. Polycolon is a moisture-managing lining fibre. Waterproofing in AG11 and AG12 comes from the separate GORE-TEX membrane.
