READY FOR MANY MORE ROUNDS
Care for the wool.
Keep the comfort.
Good merino care is a gentle routine. Start with the label on your own KAMA piece: the outer yarn, lining and any membrane all need to be considered together.
Wash gently.
Where machine washing is permitted, choose the wool programme at no more than 30°C, use wool detergent and select a low spin. For hand washing, keep the water lukewarm and press gently rather than rubbing the knit.
Reshape. Dry flat.
Press out excess water without twisting. Return the piece to its natural shape, then lay it on a clean dry towel. Keep it away from radiators and direct heat; don’t hang a wet knit or tumble dry it.
Air between rounds.
Merino often needs fresh air more than another wash. Let your hat or layer air fully between wears, and make sure it is dry before returning it to your golf bag or cupboard.
A few things to leave out.
- Fabric softener and ordinary harsh detergents.
- Hot water, sudden temperature changes and vigorous rubbing.
- Wringing, tumble drying and drying directly on a radiator.
After a wet round.
Take the piece out of your bag, reshape it gently and allow it to dry flat. Wash when needed, following its label. A knitted hat with GORE-TEX® or WINDSTOPPER® should be cared for as the complete KAMA garment; generic jacket-treatment advice may not apply.
