A softer side to a breezy round.

Tecnopile fleece adds a soft, warm inner feel to selected KAMA headwear. It is one of the details you notice as soon as you pull a beanie over your ears.

Lightweight insulation

Fleece traps air within its structure to provide warmth without a heavy inner layer. Tecnopile is used in selected KAMA headbands, linings and panels, giving the knit a smooth feel against the skin. High-loft versions add more insulation in colder-weather designs.

A headband or a fuller lining?

The A196 has an inner Tecnopile headband. Other models use a more extensive lining. Those different constructions affect warmth and feel, so choose the whole piece rather than treating a shared fleece name as a promise that every model performs identically.

Warmth and weather protection have different jobs

Tecnopile provides lining comfort and insulation. If you also want a windproof barrier, look for the separately listed WINDSTOPPER membrane on a relevant model. Follow the finished garment’s care label, especially when fleece is combined with wool or a membrane.

Does Tecnopile make the A196 windproof?

The A196’s Tecnopile headband adds warmth and comfort. It is not a WINDSTOPPER membrane, and we do not describe that model as windproof.
