THE KAMA GOLF MATERIALS GUIDE
Fine merino wool
Natural fibre. A feel for the fairway.
Merino earns its place in a golfer’s kit through comfort. Fine wool fibres help manage warmth and moisture as you move from an early tee time into a brisk walk.
Shop this technologyFine wool, thoughtfully chosen
KAMA’s Schoeller fine merino yarn uses wool fibres measuring 20.5 microns. That fineness gives a softer feel than coarser wool. Skin sensitivity varies, so softness is a characteristic rather than a guarantee that every wearer will find every knit itch-free.
Warmth through a changing round
Wool takes moisture into the fibre and helps buffer changes in temperature and humidity. It naturally resists odour, so airing between rounds can often reduce the need to wash. It is useful for cool starts, breezy practice sessions and long walks on Irish and UK courses.
Read the whole construction
The AG11 and AG12 have 100% merino outer yarn. Other pieces use merino blends, with separate linings and sometimes protective membranes. A wool knit provides comfort; waterproof protection comes from the specified GORE-TEX construction. The product details explain what each layer does.
Is every KAMA merino product made from 100% wool?
No. AG11 and AG12 use a 100% merino outer, while many other styles use a 50/50 merino-acrylic yarn or a technical blend. Linings and membranes have their own composition. Check the individual product details.
