CRAFT WITH ACCOUNTABILITY
A better story
behind every stitch.
For us, thoughtful golf kit begins before the first tee.
It begins with who makes it, what goes into it and how it is made.
FROM PRAGUE TO YOUR GOLF BAG
Small choices.
A lasting commitment.
KAMA’s approach brings together a family-owned Czech workshop, long-standing material partners and practical improvements to production. In 2022, that work earned a place among the Czech top ten in the SME EnterPRIZE sustainability competition. It is recognition of a journey, with further work still ahead.
THE PEOPLE
A family name. A visible place of work.
The Pertl family has owned KAMA since its beginnings in 1989. Production remains in Prague, bringing the people who knit, sew and finish the pieces into the same story as the brand on the label. The team includes Czech employees, deaf colleagues and people who have sought safety from the war in Ukraine.
THE PLACE
Progress inside the factory walls.
KAMA expanded and renovated its own production building in 2020. Improved insulation, LED lighting and the reuse of waste heat from production were practical steps towards using less energy. The site houses knitting and sewing alongside offices, a shop and showroom, keeping the work closely connected.
THE ENERGY
Putting the Prague roof to work.
The factory’s rooftop installation comprises 108 solar panels with a total capacity of 43.2 kW. It adds local renewable generation to the efficiency improvements already made in the building. These are specific changes to how the factory operates, rather than a claim that every product has no environmental impact.
THE YARN
Start with the fibre. Follow its journey.
Schoeller supplies KAMA’s merino yarns. Its EXP treatment makes wool washable without the conventional chlorine process, while ORGANICA® addresses traceability through the wool supply chain. The yarn story also includes bluesign® APPROVED, EU Ecolabel and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certifications. Check each product’s composition; not every piece is pure wool.
THE COMPONENTS
A useful second life for materials.
Selected pieces use recycled polyester fleece from Pontetorto, including perPETual fleece made using recycled PET. KAMA has also introduced reusable recycled-plastic sweater packaging, washable paper labels and compressed-paper hanging hooks. These changes apply to the relevant components and packaging, not a blanket promise about the whole collection.
THE LONG VIEW
Care and repair belong in the design.
A piece earns its place in your kit through repeated use. Airing merino, washing it gently and drying it flat help preserve its feel and fit. Snags and damaged seams may be repairable. Contact our team with a photograph so we can help assess what is possible before you replace a favourite.
OPEN ABOUT THE WORK
Ask who made your kit.
KAMA supports the principles of Fashion Revolution, encouraging shoppers to ask who made their clothing and under what conditions. Factory open-house events have offered a direct look at the people, equipment and processes behind the brand.
For KAMA Golf, that means describing the actual materials in each piece, making care advice easy to find and giving you a person to contact in Galway when you have a question.
