COUNTY CORK / IRISH GOLF CLUB GUIDE
Old Head Golf Links
County Cork · Coastal headland course

WHY IT BELONGS IN THE CONVERSATION
Golf with the Atlantic all around.
Old Head is a modern golf destination with a much older landscape around it. John and Patrick O’Connor developed the course on the headland south of Kinsale. Construction began in 1993 and the links opened in 1997. Its foundation date should be distinguished from the long maritime history of the peninsula.
The setting explains its identity: land extending more than two miles into the Atlantic, with the sea framing the golfing experience. It belongs to a different era from Ireland’s Victorian clubs, yet has become a recognisable stop on a Cork golf itinerary. For a round here, exposure is as relevant as the forecast temperature.
- 1993Course construction begins.
- 1997The links opens for play.

Plan your round.
This is a coastal headland setting. Consider the wind when choosing tees and planning your round; a course’s par alone does not describe its difficulty.
Contact Old Head directly for current tee-time access, seasonal opening and reservation requirements. KAMA Golf does not make golf bookings on the club’s behalf.
For a day on an exposed course, choose headwear for the actual forecast. Merino brings natural comfort; selected WINDSTOPPER® styles add wind protection, while AG11 and AG12 provide waterproof GORE-TEX® construction.
